This show sort of represents a form of wish fulfillment, where I had many, many summers as a kid and dreamed that these things would happen. I had every single dubiously credited book about the paranormal and the unknown, and I would literally lie on the dodgeball blacktop in elementary school, on the ground, facing up at the sky, hoping that a UFO would land, because those big circles seemed like the perfect spot. In terms of actual, monster of the week type adventures that happen in the show, most of that is based on what I was obsessed with when I was 12.
